Description

This Authentic Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry recipe delivers a flavorful and satisfying dish that is perfect for a quick weeknight meal. Tender strips of beef are stir-fried with crisp broccoli and a savory sauce, creating a delicious combination that pairs perfectly with steamed rice.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Beef Stir Fry

  • 11.2 lb Beef Flank Steak, or steak tip thin sliced
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil, divided for stir-frying
  • 1/2 head of broccoli, ~ 1 heaping cup
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • 23 tbsp coconut aminos
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp arrowroot flour
  • 1/3 cup carrot slices, optional
  • 1/4 cup red bell pepper slices, optional

Stir Fry Sauce

  • 1/3 cup coconut aminos
  • 1/4 cup water or beef stock
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tbsp arrowroot flour

Instructions

  1. Cut the flank beef steak into medium/thin strips, marinate with coconut aminos, baking soda, and arrowroot flour. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together all the ingredients for the stir fry sauce. Set aside.
  3. Heat 2 – 3 tablespoons of neutral oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and saute for 20 – 30 seconds or until fragrant.
  4. Add broccoli and carrots, stir continuously and sauté for 3 – 4 minutes until slightly tender.
  5. Push the veggies to the side and add 1 – 2 tablespoon in the middle of the pan. Place the beef slices in. Sear both sides until golden brown and to preferred doneness.
  6. Turn the heat to low and stir gently until the sauce becomes sticky and thoroughly coats the beef and broccoli stir fry.
  7. Serve the beef stir fry on a bed of rice and garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onion (optional).

Notes

  • You can add additional salt to the beef marinade, but take into consideration that the coconut aminos are salty itself.
