Description

These festive Christmas Tree Sandwiches are a fun and easy holiday treat perfect for parties and gatherings. Made with simple ingredients like crustless bread, cheese, and deli ham, they are shaped into adorable Christmas trees using a cookie cutter. Spread with mayonnaise and optional mustard for extra flavor, these sandwiches are quick to prepare and sure to delight kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale

Bread and Spreads

  • 16 slices crustless bread (white or wholegrain, thinly sliced)
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise (or to your liking)
  • Mustard (optional, to taste)

Fillings

  • 8 slices cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, gouda, edam, or any preferred type)
  • 8 slices deli ham (use 2 slices per sandwich if ham is thinly sliced)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the bread: Lay out 8 slices of crustless bread and spread each evenly with mayonnaise to add moisture and flavor.
  2. Add cheese and ham: Place one slice of cheese on each piece of bread, followed by a slice of deli ham. If the ham is thinly sliced, use two slices per sandwich for better coverage.
  3. Add mustard (optional): Spread a small amount of mustard over the ham if desired to enhance the taste.
  4. Assemble sandwiches: Cover each prepared slice with another slice of bread to form 8 complete sandwiches.
  5. Cut into Christmas trees: Using a tree-shaped cookie cutter, cut two tree shapes out of each sandwich, yielding 16 mini Christmas tree sandwiches in total.

Notes

  • You can use bread with crust and remove it yourself. White bread can be substituted with wholegrain bread. Make sure to buy thinly sliced bread!
  • Use any cheese you like – cheddar, mozzarella, gouda, edam, etc.
  • If the ham you are using is sliced too thin, use 2 slices per sandwich for better texture and flavor.
  • Mustard is completely optional and can be omitted if preferred.
