Scale
Bread and Spreads
- 16 slices crustless bread (white or wholegrain, thinly sliced)
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise (or to your liking)
- Mustard (optional, to taste)
Fillings
- 8 slices cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, gouda, edam, or any preferred type)
- 8 slices deli ham (use 2 slices per sandwich if ham is thinly sliced)
Instructions
- Prepare the bread: Lay out 8 slices of crustless bread and spread each evenly with mayonnaise to add moisture and flavor.
- Add cheese and ham: Place one slice of cheese on each piece of bread, followed by a slice of deli ham. If the ham is thinly sliced, use two slices per sandwich for better coverage.
- Add mustard (optional): Spread a small amount of mustard over the ham if desired to enhance the taste.
- Assemble sandwiches: Cover each prepared slice with another slice of bread to form 8 complete sandwiches.
- Cut into Christmas trees: Using a tree-shaped cookie cutter, cut two tree shapes out of each sandwich, yielding 16 mini Christmas tree sandwiches in total.
Notes
- You can use bread with crust and remove it yourself. White bread can be substituted with wholegrain bread. Make sure to buy thinly sliced bread!
- Use any cheese you like – cheddar, mozzarella, gouda, edam, etc.
- If the ham you are using is sliced too thin, use 2 slices per sandwich for better texture and flavor.
- Mustard is completely optional and can be omitted if preferred.
