Instructions
- Make the snails: Fill celery stalks with peanut butter or cream cheese, spreading it evenly to create the snail’s body. Top with a slice of apple, orange, kiwi, cucumber, or tomato to form the snail’s shell. Place a cashew at the front as the snail’s head. Use a small amount of peanut butter or cream cheese to glue candy eyes onto the cashew, completing the snail’s face.
- Make the caterpillars: Spread peanut butter or cream cheese inside celery stalks to form the caterpillar’s base. Arrange grapes, blueberries, or grape tomatoes along the filled celery to create the caterpillar’s segmented body and head. Secure candy eyes onto the front grape or tomato using peanut butter or cream cheese as glue. Finish with celery or radish matchsticks inserted at the front to serve as antennae.
Notes
- Choose peanut butter or cream cheese based on dietary preferences or allergies.
- Use fresh, firm fruits and vegetables for easier assembly and better texture.
- For a nut-free option, opt for cream cheese and avoid cashews.
- Candy eyes can be found at most craft or baking stores; alternatively, small edible decorations can be used.
- Prepare just before serving to maintain the freshness and prevent the celery from wilting.
