Ingredients

Dough:

  • 1 cup (250mL) water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup (113g) butter
  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 4 eggs

Instructions

  1. Mix the first 4 ingredients: Combine water, salt, sugar, and butter in a pan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  2. Add flour: Once boiling, add flour and mix thoroughly until smooth and dough pulls away from the pan.
  3. Add eggs: Add eggs one at a time, mixing until smooth. Set aside to cool.
  4. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat to 400F/200C.
  5. Fill cake decorator bag: Fill with dough and a star tip.
  6. Create sticks: Pipe dough onto parchment paper, cut into sticks, and transfer to air fryer.
  7. Cook churros: Air fry at 400F/200C for 5 minutes.
  8. Coat in sugar: Roll warm churros in cinnamon sugar mixture.

Notes

  • Best served warm.
  • Use disposable cake decorator bags or ziplock bags.
  • Chill dough for 30 mins to firm up.
  • Cook in batches, leaving room for expansion.
  • Trim batter sticks if needed.
  • Spray with oil before frying for crispiness.
