Ingredients
Scale
Chocolate Mixture
- 2 lbs white almond bark (white candy coating), broken or chopped into smaller squares
- 12 oz bag semisweet chocolate chips
- 4 oz bar German sweet chocolate, broken or chopped into smaller squares
Add-ins
- 32 oz dry roasted or cocktail peanuts
- Holiday sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Slow Cooker: If desired, lightly spray the slow cooker insert with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking. Add the chopped almond bark, semisweet chocolate chips, and German sweet chocolate to the insert.
- Melt the Chocolates: Place a clean, dry kitchen towel over the top of the slow cooker to absorb condensation, then place the lid on top. Cook on HIGH for 1 hour, then reduce heat to LOW and cook for an additional hour or until chocolates are fully melted, stirring every 15-20 minutes to ensure smooth melting and prevent burning.
- Add Peanuts: Carefully remove the lid and towel, avoiding any condensation dripping into the mixture. Stir in the dry roasted or cocktail peanuts thoroughly to combine all ingredients evenly.
- Form Candy Clusters: Line several baking sheets with wax paper. Using a spoon or small cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of the candy mixture onto the wax paper. If desired, sprinkle holiday sprinkles onto clusters immediately before they set.
- Set the Candy: Refrigerate the candy clusters for 30 minutes to 1 hour until firm. If refrigeration is not possible, let stand at room temperature until set. Store finished candy in a cool place in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
Notes
- Monitor your slow cooker closely, as cooking temperatures vary between models and brands. Adjust time or heat settings as needed.
- Using a kitchen towel under the slow cooker lid helps prevent condensation from dripping onto the melting chocolate, ensuring a smooth finish.
- For best texture and flavor, use dry roasted or cocktail peanuts rather than raw.
- These candy clusters can be stored at room temperature in a sealed container if refrigeration space is limited, but will set faster and firmer when chilled.
