Ingredients
Scale
Fruit
- 2 Green Apples, chopped (reserve some pieces for garnish)
- 2 Cups Fresh Cranberries
Sweeteners
- ½ Cup Granulated Sugar
Herbs
- 1 Bunch Rosemary
Liquids
- 1 Bottle Moscato
- 1 Bottle Sparkling Apple Cider
Instructions
- Prepare the Fruit: Chop the green apples into small pieces. Reserve a few pieces aside for garnish, and place the rest at the bottom of a large drink pitcher.
- Sugar the Cranberries: Rinse the cranberries in a colander. Immediately roll a handful of fresh cranberries in granulated sugar and set these sugared berries aside for garnish.
- Add Remaining Cranberries: Add the rest of the unsugared cranberries to the pitcher with the apples.
- Muddle the Fruit: Using a muddler or wooden spoon, gently crush some of the fruit at the bottom of the pitcher to release their juices and flavors.
- Combine Liquids and Garnish: Pour in the bottle of Moscato and the sparkling apple cider. Add a bunch of rosemary on top for fragrance and garnish.
- Prepare Glasses: Rim champagne glasses with sugar for extra sweetness and sparkle. Fill each glass with the Christmas Sangria mixture.
- Final Garnish: Add a few sugared cranberries and apple pieces to the top of each cocktail and garnish each glass with one sprig of rosemary for a festive touch.
- Serve and Enjoy: Serve immediately and enjoy this refreshing holiday cocktail with friends and family!
Notes
- For best flavor, chill the sangria for at least 1 hour before serving to allow the fruit to infuse the wine and cider.
- Use a muddler gently to avoid overpowering bitterness from the fruit skins.
- Sugared cranberries can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
- To make this cocktail non-alcoholic, substitute Moscato with additional sparkling apple cider.
- Rimming glasses with sugar adds an extra festive touch and balances the tartness of the cocktail.
