Description

A bright and refreshing Strawberry Salsa that combines the sweetness of ripe strawberries with the heat of jalapeño, the sharpness of red onion, and zesty lime for a vibrant and flavorful appetizer or topping. Perfect for summertime gatherings or as a healthy snack.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 pound strawberries, hulled and finely diced
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, stemmed, seeded, and finely diced
  • 1/2 cup finely diced red onion (about 1/4 medium red onion)
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro, loosely packed
  • 1 lime, zested and juiced
  • 1 pinch kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Add the finely diced strawberries, jalapeño, red onion, chopped cilantro, lime zest and juice, and a pinch of kosher salt to a medium bowl. Toss everything gently until all ingredients are evenly mixed.
  2. Rest to Meld Flavors: You can serve this salsa immediately for the freshest taste, or cover it and refrigerate for about 2 hours to let the flavors meld together for a more developed taste experience before serving.

Notes

  • Sweetness: If the salsa isn’t sweet enough for your liking, gradually mix in 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar or honey until the desired sweetness is achieved.
  • Storage: Best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Stir well before serving to recombine flavors.
