- 1-1/2 lbs. small red potatoes

- 1 lbs. kielbasa, sliced
For Serving
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 2 tsps. finely minced garlic
- Lemon wedges (optional)
- Cocktail sauce or spicy mayo (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Shrimp: Devein the extra large shrimp and set them aside on ice until ready to cook. This ensures your shrimp are clean and fresh for the boil.
- Make Broth: In a large stock pot, combine the 5 quarts of water, 12 oz. beer, shrimp and crab boil seasoning, 1/4 cup Old Bay seasoning, 2 tablespoons kosher salt, juice and rinds of 2 lemons, and quartered onion. Bring this mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes to infuse the flavors.
- Cook Potatoes: Add the small red potatoes to the simmering broth and cook for 10 minutes until tender but not mushy.
- Add Corn and Kielbasa: Toss in the broken pieces of corn and sliced kielbasa, continuing to cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Cook Shrimp: Finally, add the deveined shrimp to the pot and cook for about 3 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque, indicating they are properly cooked.
- Drain and Toss: Drain the entire mixture, then gently toss the ingredients with the melted butter mixed with minced garlic to coat and enhance flavor.
- Serve: Serve the shrimp boil on a bed of newspapers for an authentic experience, with lemon wedges and your choice of dipping sauces such as cocktail sauce or spicy mayo, making for a festive and flavorful meal.
